Q&A: How to connect the IBS-TH1/IBS-TH2 series?

Please search and download the Engbird app via Google play/ App store on your phone.
When installing, please make sure that all permissions of Engbird are allowed.
When connecting, please try to place the sensor next to the phone. Open the Engbird app, and turn on the phone’s Bluetooth and location functions. Please make sure that the Bluetooth of the mobile phone is not connected to other Bluetooth devices.
(Since the Google policy upgradation of SDK (Software Development Kit) to the latest version 26, it is necessary to launch the GPS to tag your position for scanning bluetooth device, which are applicable to the version starting from 23.)
Please click ‘add sensor’, it will automatically search for and connect the sensor.

If the connection fails, please:

  1. Unplug the batteries, wait a few minutes, then reinstall them. Please make sure that the batteries are new and installed in the correct orientation.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall the Engbird app.
  3. Restart the phone. If possible, please use a different mobile phone to test to rule out whether the problem is caused by the mobile phone.
  4. Enter the Bluetooth connection page of the mobile phone and check if there is a Bluetooth signal of the sensor. If not, please contact support@inkbird.com and provide order information.

Had no luck pairing TH-2 sensors until I did some research and came across the statement that some Bluetooth devices automatically power-up into pairing mode, and if no pairing signal is detected turn off pairing mode. The TH-2 seems to do this very quickly, so follow these steps and it will pair to the app without any problem:

Make sure Bluetooth is on.

Bring up the Engbird app on your phone

Take battery door off the sensor and set aside.

Install one battery fully, observing the proper polarity.

Position the second battery above its holder , but do not insert.

Press the Add Sensor button on the app then QUICKLY insert the second battery.

The sensor will be added to the app immediately.

Use SETTINGS to configure as desired.

Reinstall the battery compartment door.
