My IIC-400 stops in manual mode after about 10 seconds

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an Inkbird IIC-400 and successfully connected it to my Wi-Fi network.

My setup:

  • 2 irrigation zones

  • 4 wires

  • Black wires connected to C

  • Red wire connected to Zone 1 and Zone 2

  • No rain sensor installed

Since I don’t use a rain sensor, I keep the yellow jumper wire between S and 24. The connections are secure and not loose.

In the app, I also disabled the “Main Switch Rain Sensor” option.

Problem:
When I start the zone manually from the app, the sprinkler starts correctly but stops after around 10 seconds.

After it stops:

  • all LEDs blink simultaneously

  • all 4 zone LEDs are green

  • the rain sensor LED is red

The firmware/app is up to date.

I already tried:

  • enabling/disabling the main valve switch

  • enabling/disabling rain sensor settings

  • running scheduled irrigation programs instead of manual mode

  • tried with only one zone, and 2 wires

Nothing worked so far.

Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?

Thanks!

The connected wire

Hello,
If the water valve stops working in manual mode, please check if its specifications are within the 24VAC, 1A range. Its voltage cannot be 24VDC/9V, or the inrush current will exceed 1A. This is the most direct cause of the zone failing to turn on properly.

You were right, I need to use 24VAC valves.
I changed them, and it works now.
