Inkbird iic-600

I’m using an Inkbird IIC-600 irrigation controller and I’m having trouble getting the valves to open electrically.

The controller powers on normally and I hear a click coming from the valve itself (not from the controller) when I manually turn on a zone. So the solenoid is getting some power. However, the valves do not open electrically.

If I open them manually (using the small bleed screw/knob), water flows fine — so pressure and plumbing are OK.

The solenoids are labeled 24V AC, so they should be compatible with the IIC-600.

Wiring setup

  • I do not have a master valve or pump output.

  • I have two irrigation zones.

  • Each zone has its own pair of wires.

  • Both zones share a single common wire, which is connected to the COM terminal on the IIC-600.

  • The individual zone wires are connected to Zone 1 and Zone 2 outputs on the controller.

So the wiring is:
Zone 1 → S1, Zone 2 → S2, and both commons → COM.

Symptoms

  • When I activate Zone 1 or Zone 2, I hear a click in the valve.

  • But the valve does not open electrically.

  • Both valves do open manually.

  • So it’s an electrical issue I think, not hydraulic.

What could be the issue here? My voltage seems correct and both valves are brand new.

Thanks.

Hello,
Perhaps we can further verify if the problem originates from ports in Zone 1 and Zone 2. Please connect the water valve to other zones for testing; can they be opened?
If all zones are not working, please provide your order information and a link to this post to email: support@inkbird.com for after-sales service.
Thanks.
