I purchased this probe a month ago and have already used it 5 times with t-bones and ribeyes. The first time I had set medium rare cooking at 54 degrees in the app. I removed the meat when the probe read 52 degrees at the core, but the steak was well done. The second time I tried to set a rare cooking target of 49 degrees in the app, but when I removed the meat from the heat at 47 degrees it was medium well. Same the third time. Then I calibrated the probe in water and ice, as indicated in the manual and seeing that it read 3 degrees I removed them using the app. I tried again to cook a fourth steak by setting the app to rare at 49 degrees, but the meat at the marked 47 degrees was already medium well/well done. The fifth time I removed the meat when the probe read 44 degrees internal, but the steak was still overcooked. Then the probe detects wrong internal temperatures. Is mine defective or what?
My INT-14-BW shows the correct temperature for while, but it seems the more the temperature goes up the further off from being correct it is. I have recalibrated all 4 of my probes and it still does the same thing. I still do not have any answers to fix my problem.
