Inkbird isc-028-bw oven temperature differs from the original GreenEgg temperature. When I hang the sensor in the top of the dome the inkbird temperature shows 30-40C higher. If i place the sensor on the grill the temperature shows 60C higher. Is this normal?
Hello,
Please check that the probe plug on the ISC-028BW is securely inserted. A loose plug could cause inaccurate readings.
To further verify the probe reading, please refer to the following:
Please put the probe and probe’s cable (excluding the probe’s plug) in a 150C (302 F) oven for 30 minutes, then test it with boiling water ( please hang the probes and do not let it touch the container). Under normal circumstances, its reading will be close to 100°C (212°F).
If the reading is correct, please adjust the probe position. Please avoid direct contact between the probe and the oven/grill, as this could result in an inaccurate temperature reading.
Thanks for your feedback. I received also an answer from Inkbird support by mail. I tested the probes with boiled water and readings were spot on. Due to several factors I assume that working with the Inkbird I need to leave readings from the standard GreenEgg readings a side and apply the Inkbird readings. I started hanging the probe in the Egg’s top vent and this works fine. Internal temperatures readings are fine.
