IBS-TH2 Temperature out by 6 degrees C

I have a IBS-TH2 sensor located in my home attic to report excessive heat or cold temps. When installed originally 2 years ago the sensor was relatively close to ambient swings . I changed the battery apron 4 months ago and it is presently sitting at 68% life. What I have noticed recently is these being reported are aprox 50% warmer than they should indicate???

Can these sensors actually drift that amount of deviation or can these sensors actually become faulty for no reason?

Hello,
Please check whether the black probe detection port on the front of IBS-TH2 is blocked or has water in it?
Please check the app settings to see if the calibration function is set correctly?
Please wipe it clean with a dry rag and test it in a different environment. Is its reading still inaccurate?
