Not being able to set a high and low alarm for the ambient temperature is also an issue for me.
A simple solution would be to update the app to allow the maximum temperature under the “Hot Smoke” and/or “Cold Smoke” custom setting from 203" to 300F. We could then use one of the four probes as an ambient temperature monitor to notifiy us if our smoker gets too hot or too cold in the middle of the night.
Is that an idea you will relay to the Inkbird app engineers?
Please kindly understand that the detection range of the stainless steel meat probe is -10~100℃/14~212℉. Exceeding these limits may cause irreparable damage to the probe.
Therefore, even if the upper limit of the alarm range is adjusted to 300F, it will still only be effective for the meat probe, but the meat probe cannot be placed in an environment above 212F.
Currently, implementing this functionality in the INT-14-BW model presents technical constraints. The engineering team is actively evaluating solutions for this requirement.
However, the good news is that this feature has been successfully integrated into the upcoming INT-11S-B model. Perhaps they will make more progress in the future.
