If your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands but only one WiFi name is displayed in your phone’s WiFi search results, please follow these steps:
- Access the router’s wireless settings. The login URL is usually printed on a label on the back of the router.
- On the 2.4 GHz settings page, set the SSID to [Your Network Name]-2.4G (replace ‘YourNetworkName’ with your preferred Wi-Fi name). Save the settings.
- On the 5 GHz settings page, set the SSID to [Your Network Name]-5 G. Save the settings.
Once done, the new SSIDs will appear in your phone’s WiFi list.
Note: After changing the SSIDs, reconnect all devices to the network. The password remains unchanged if unmodified.
For brand-specific guidance, please search “How to split Wi-Fi SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz + [Your Router Brand]” online—manufacturers or users often share detailed guides.
