Q&A: How does ITC-308WIFI work?

ITC-308WIFI has a special temperature mode and a normal temperature mode.

The trigger conditions for the special temperature mode are:

  1. Enter the setting mode through the SET key then exit.
  2. Enter the setting mode through the app then exit.

In the special temperature mode, ITC-308WIFI will ignore the settings of HD (Heating hysteresis temperature) and CD (Cooling back temperature) and turn on the heating/cooling output. It will not enter the normal mode until the temperature reaches the SV target temperature.

In the normal temperature mode, when the temperature reaches/ lower than TS/SV (temperature setting value) - HD (Heating hysteresis temperature), it will turn on the heater, turn off at TS. When the temperature reaches/ higher than TS + CD (Cooling back temperature), it will turn on the cooler, turn off at TS.

Alarm settings:
AH (High tempearture value), AL (Low temperature value) are alarm settings, it will only send an alarm when the temperature reaches or falls below AL/ reaches or exceeds AH, it will not affect the output.

Refrigeration Delay (PT):
When the time interval between two refrigeration operation is larger than preset delay, the equipment will start refrigeration immediately; when the time interval between two refrigeration is less than preset delay, the equipment won’t start refrigeration until preset delay is satisfied.
For example PT=3. (Compressor Delay 3 mins)
For the first time, when temperature reached TS+CD, it will turn on the cooling outlet, turn off at TS. It takes 1 min to reach TS+CD again, at this time, the cooling outlet will not turn on, it will wait 2 mins.

Temperature calibration (CA):
When there is a deviation between the read temperature (PV) and the actual temperature, please adjust it through the calibration function.
For example, the reading temperature (PV) is 3 degrees higher than the current temperature, please set CA=-3. The reading temperature is 2 degrees lower than the current temperature, please set CA=2.

What am I doing wrong?

I have an ITC 308 in my greenhouse with an exhaust fan plugged into cooling and a small electric heater plugged into heating.

I would like the cooling fan to turn on at 80 F (to keep the room from overheating).

I would like the heater to turn on at 35 F (to keep the room above freezing).

I don’t want anything turned on between 35 - 80 F.

BUT if I set the SV temperature to 60 F and the HD to 25 F (don’t turn heater on until 35 F) and the CD to 20 F (don’t turn fan on until 80 F), one or the other still turns on above or below 60 F.

Hello,
Please understand that ITC-308-WIFI can only set 1 target temperature (SV/ TS).
The target temperature is the shutdown value of the heating output or cooling output.
If you set SV (TS) =60, HD=25, CD=20
It would be: turn on the heating output when the temperature reaches or below 35F, turn off the heating output until the temperature reaches 60F; turn on the cooling output when the temperature reaches or above 80F, turn off the cooling output until the temperature reaches 60F.
Depending on your needs, it will use 2 target temperature values. One ITC-308-WIFI cannot achieve this requirement.
