INKBIRD 308 temp controller plug melted

The controller plug melted into the power bar I was using. Does the controller need to be plugged into a 19 gauge chord to run a 1500W heater?

Hello,
Sorry to hear that .
Please check if the heater specifications are within the limits of ITC-308?
Please understand that ITC-308 has a power limited, the maximum current it supports is 10A.
If the power voltage used is 120V, please understand that the maximum power it can withstand is 1200W. It cannot connect a 1500W heater.
In addition, please make sure that the ITC-308 body/socket/plug is not exposed to water or placed in a high humidity environment. The power supply of the ITC-308 is not loose.
If possible, please provide your order information, photos of the ITC-308 plug, and heater specifications to email support@inkbird.com for after-sales service.
Since forum posts are public, these may involve private information, please do not reply here.
Thanks for your cooperation.

Can you please suggest a greenhouse heater that can be used with the 308

Hi, There is no brand restriction on heaters.
Just please make sure the heater specifications meet:

  1. Power is within the range of 110V-240V, 10A. (If the power supply voltage used is 120V, the power of the heater should not exceed 1200W.)
  2. The built-in temperature control will not affect the control of the ITC-308.
  3. After power on, there is no need to manually press a button to turn on the device.
  4. Can heat to the target temperature when working alone.
