24V voltage on zones even when not in use

Hi all, i have a new IIC-800 wifi installed at my home. Tried to see how it works and found a strange behaviour: even when a zone is not “enabled”, found 24V voltage between C and ”Z” zone and “M” zone. In this case my controller is broken?

Thanks and regards

Hello,
Please understand that measuring with a multimeter may get false voltages if the zone is turned off.
Please connect the 24VAC, 1A water valve for testing. Can it be turned off?

Your controller is not broken. The controller uses electronic devices to do its switching there for needs an appropriate load 24 VAC relay or globe as a load to function correctly. This is true for “M” and “Z” Zone outputs. A multimeter is not an appropriate load by itself and will give false indications like 24VAC at all times. I hope this helps.
