In the instructions, I see the wiring diagram for connecting a pump start relay. However, I didn’t see anything about actually programming the zones. With this setup, there are no wires connected to zone “1”, “2”, etc. How is it that the zones are programmed or scheduled through the controller/app while using a pump start relay?

Have you seen the Diagramm in this thread?
You have to connect your valves to the Ports 1-8 and the C Port.
The function of the Main valve / Pump Relais is independent from that.
If the Irrigation starts on a Zone, the Port for the Main valve / Pump Relais gets 24 VAC too.

Do you know how to connect your valves to the IIC and program it by the App?
I understand the wiring to incorporate the pump start relay. Are there special instructions within the app to make this work?

As far as I understand, the function of the master valve / pump relay is always active. I have not found a setting for this in the app.
As soon as the irrigation of any zone starts, the 24V voltage is applied to the contact of the zone AND to the master contact.
The pump relay must then recognise the 24V voltage and enable the 230V (country dependend) to the pump.

I have a new IIC-800, but in de app of inkbird I can’t find the master valve buttoom or configuration. Do you know how to program it? Thanks.
The pump or master valve will operate when any of the Zones are programmed to operate.
The Zones will operate sequentially starting with zone 1 if all start times are programmed with the same start time. The Master Valve / pump will operate for this period.
