Tried everything, can’t find device. The old BBQ app worked fine but it got deleted by mistake. Now I have a useless brick.
Hello,
Sorry to hear that.
Please refer to the following troubleshooting, please make sure the relevant permissions are enabled:
Does it work?
I did all the troubleshooting steps, the INKBIRD app will not recognize my thermometer.
Please provide your order information, phone model, and a video of how you connected the IBBQ-4T to email support@inkbird.com for after-sales service.

Thanks.
I have the identical problem.
I have tried with multiple routers…the latest being a glinet Beryl-3100 with LAN set to only 2.4g a/b/n. I have tried your instructions using both fast and slow blink modes. In slow link and linking to SmartLife-4BA4 gets an address of 192.168.175.2 however your application on my iphone 16 does not find the inkbird ibbq-4T. When trying to connect in slow blink mode, and connected to SmartLife-4BA4, Your application stops me saying I’m not connected to a network even though it gives me an IP???
I have tried every suggestion in your troubleshooting…none work.
I have set up a very simple system. The glinet router is connected to my main internet router wirelessly. I works using my ipad connected to the beryl and accessing the internet wirelessly on the LAN side. on the LAN side, It’s only using the 2.4g band. I registed an account and signed on using your IOS application, then with a slow blink, added the ibbq 4T after resetting the iphone wifi link to SmartLife… and then continuing. I entered the password for my router as requested and got the message that I wasn’t connected to the internet. Makes no sense.
Using the same setup, I tried fast blink mode…connected to the beryl router with my ipad mini 7 (also tried my iphone 16) and the IOS app never found the Ibbq-4T.
If the IBBQ-4T is non operational, then I should not have ever been able to see/connect to it’s Wifi to get the 192.168.175.2 address. (based on past experience) I tried to HTTP to 192.168.175.1 but that didn’t work.
I do need a working bbq thermometer…need to get this working…
Heads up to all of those with connection issues- you have to connect to the “Smartlife WiFi” to get it to pair, then it will revert to your 2.4 ghz network. I finally got it to work.
Inkbird support does not tell you this.
I connected my ipad to my 2.4g router, started the INKBIRD iOS app. My name is at the top of the page. I start to add a device, select theibbq 4t, slow flash. I change myipad lan connection to startlife…I’m asked for username and pw,.". I enter my 2.4g router userid and pw and then return to the app and hit continue…. The app can’t find the 4t.
As I said in my previous post, my router is set to only work on 2.4g and b/g/n with WAP security…which is exactly what inkbird says is required.
I’m out of ideas….I am on the latest releases of IOS on both my iphone 16 and mini 7 and neither can find the ibbq-4t.
Clearly, the ibbq is working…it has an SSID and shows the flashes, so there is something in the software that isn’t working.
We need a solution from Inkbird…,or this product is just now unusable junk which should be noted on Amazon and/or other sites where it’s being sold…
Sorry to hear it. I had issues, and bad advice from Inkbird support before the Startlife wifi discovery.
I finally managed to get connected. I had to borrow an antique router/extender that only had the capability of communicating on 2.4g. Just turning 5g off on my personal routers (yes, there’s an s) did not allow me to set up and communicate with the the inkbird.
But there’s a serious problem…the 4T only works with the borrowed antique…there is no way to change the SSID/password other than trying to forget the device and add it again while working with my main router which does not have a way to only transmit on 2.4g which we know doesn’t work.
As a result, I now have a stand alone thermometer unless I acquire an old 2.4g only router to work beside my Frontier router so I can view what’s happening from my phone. That’s just a terrible solution.
UPDATE: For the true techie who has too much time on their hands, there is a way to make this a functional device with current routers that offer automatic 5/2.4g lan wireless switching…
- change the ssid on your internet provider router from SSID1 to some dummy ssid and write down the password you are using to sign on to that router wirelessly (PW1) and restart that router. 2) Now plug in/Set up another router that allows you to turn off 5g or better yet, doesn’t even have 5g capability…and set it up with your internet provider’s SSID (SSID1) and PW1. connect your temporary router to your main internet router with an ethernet cable. 3) Now, connect your phone/ipad to the original ssid/pw (yes, it will now actually be recognized by the borrowed/temp router…that’s what you want. 4) Now Start the inkbird app and follow the slow flash directions after figuring out how to get the 4T into slow flash mode. 5) Make sure you switch your phone/ipad wifi to starlife when told to do so, hit continue and it should find the 4T. 6) Now unplug that extra borrowed/slow router and change the SSID/password of the internet provider’s router back to SSID1/pw1
