IIC-600-WIFI Setup in Slow Blinking Mode

Hi all together,

I’m struggeling for hours setting up Inkbird IIC-600. It is mounted to a Wall in my garden without any router wifi in this area. So I want to set inkbird up in slow mode.

This is what I’m doing:

  1. Power is OFF, and I start the Inkbird APP

  2. I “Add Device” and select the “IIC-600-WIFI” device in the “All devices view”

  3. The App says I should start the device, so I power it on by pluggin in the power supply

  4. The Inkbird is already in slow blinking mode, so I select “Slow flashing” and klick on next!

  5. Then I immidiatly come to this page where you can type wifi and password but the manuel says I should see the page where it says “Please select the way you want to link”.
    but it does not come.

  6. So now I select the 2.4G and set my wifi to “SmartLife-719F”

After I come back to the app, the name is already prefilled.

  7. After that I come to this screen that is trying to connect to the device

  8. And after the countdown goes to 0s I see the screen that says that “Connection Failed”

What am I doing wrong? Why is there no screen like in the manual described that asks me the ways I want to link (“Please select the way you want to link”)

I tried this process over a hundred times, but everything I do ends up in “Connection Failed”…

Maybe my device is broken?

PS: I made a lot of screenshot but due to forum limitation you’ll only see 1 screenshot

Hello,
Sorry, if there is no router Wi-Fi near IIC-600-WIFI, it cannot connect to the mobile phone.
The slow flash mode of IIC-600-WIFI is in the scene where the signal interference is relatively large. The user can connect to the hotspot of IIC-600-WIFI and connect it one-to-one to 2.4GHz wifi. The hotspot transmitted by IIC-600-WIFI cannot access the Internet directly.
The specific connection steps are:

  1. Turn the device WIFI indicator to slow flashing.
  2. The mobile phone is connected to the 2.4GHz wifi (Please make sure that the phone is not connected to the 5GHz wifi band), the 2.4GHz wifi router can successfully surf the Internet, and the location permission has been opened.
  3. Open the app, select the AP mode, enter the wifi name and password, the app will prompt to connect to smartlife-xxx. Do not click Confirm at this time.
  4. Please switch the page to the mobile phone wifi connection settings, after connecting to the smartlife-xxx hotspot, it will display “connected without internet”.
  5. Then please return to the app immediately, click confirm, and it will enter the connection mode.

Hi Tanja,
I thought in the AP mode, you can only connect to INKBIRD directly and no Wifi from Router is required? Is this correct?

So there should never be a 5GHZ because INKBIRD hast just 2.4 GHZ.

Where Can I select the AP - Mode in the APP? Like I said on my APP there popsup NO message that says:

" Please select the way you want to link"

  • Fast flashing
  • Slow flasing

Sorry for the confusion, slow flashing mode is AP mode.
The fast flashing mode and slow flashing mode (AP mode) are just different connection steps, their ultimate goal is to connect the device to 2.4GHz wifi (with internet access).
Therefore, if there is no 2.4GHz wifi near IIC-600-WIFI, it cannot connect to the mobile phone.
