ITC-1000F (12v) Heat light on all the time

We are using an ITC-1000F on our sailboat to control a refrigerator. It has been working well for a couple of years. We have just turned it on after an extended “vacation” and noticed that the Heat light is on all the time. Nothing is connected to the Heater pins 5&6. It “appears” that the cooling circuit is working normally, but the Heat light is on continually. Should this be a problem, if we are not using the Heat circuit?

Hello,
Please check if the ITC-1000 reading is correct.

The ITC-1000 determines whether the output is on or off based on the reading and settings. It does not recognize whether a device is connected to the port.

If the current reading reaches the TS-DS setting, the heating indicator light will turn on even if no heater is connected.

Detailed explanation:
TS is the target temperature, and DS is the temperature difference value.
When the temperature reaches/ below TS-DS, it will turn on the heating output, and turn off at TS.
When the temperature reaches/ higher than TS+DS, it will turn on the cooling output, and turn off at TS.
For example, if you want to control 25 degrees, the temperature range is 23 ~27. Please set TS=25, DS=2.
When the temperature reaches/ below 23 degrees (TS-DS), it will turn on the heater, turn off at 25 degrees. When the temperature reaches/ above 27 degrees (TS+DS), it will turn on the cooler, turn off at 25 degrees.
