Regarding ITC-1000F current switching limit of 10A, is there a surge rating since compressors, especially, and air conditioners, can have a much higher surge when starting?

Compressors and air conditioners can have startup surges several times their running current. If the max surge rating of the ITC-1000F (12V version specifically) is limited to 10A, then safe running currents of 3 amps or less would seem appropriate for these applications. This would make the device not appropriate for many applications people are attempting to use it for....
Is this a valid consideration ?
Is there a surge handling capability on the contacts ?
